Gravity

What is Lucifer was gravity and science really was religion?
Would we then be praying to chemistry?
Would we understand the power of our Hail Marys?
Would you still find me in a crowd? Would you say it right out loud
Would you walk across the broken glass again for me please
Cause I'm crazy yes I'm sure and I know there is no cure of the longing
But you wouldn't want there not to be
Gravity, keeping me grounded
Gravity, controlling my flight
Gravity, all your fears are unfounded
Gravity, between the darkness and the light

What is Mozart was a physicist and Einstein was really a composer?
Would I then be singing geometry
And the workings of the human heart required study?
Could you live without my eyes? Am I the source of your demise?
Would you break your heart again and again for me please
Cause you're crazy yes it's sure
and I know there is no cure for the longing
But you wouldn't want there not to be
Gravity, keeping me grounded
Gravity, controlling my flight
Gravity, all your fears are unfounded
Gravity, between the darkness and the light

What if everyone were innocent and sin was just misunderstanding?
Could we then be free of adversity?
Would we melt into the soul of God like we were meant to be?
Would you cry without me here? Would you relinquish all your fear?
Would you prove yourself again and again for me please?
Cause I'm crazy yes I'm sure and I know there is no cure for the longing
But you wouldn't want there not to be
Gravity, keeping you grounded
Gravity, controlling your flight
Gravity, all your fears are unfounded
Gravity, between the darkness and the light
